Stories behind the stories.

A collection of thoughts on weddings, photography, films, people and the little things that make a celebration worth remembering.

Why Candid Photography Is More Than Just Candid
Photography · 01

The moments you never planned are often the ones you keep.

Candid wedding photography is not simply about photographing people when they are not looking at the camera. It is about paying attention to what happens between the planned moments.

A laugh during a family conversation, a parent watching their child get ready, a friend fixing a dupatta five minutes before the ceremony. These moments do not need direction. They need someone patient enough to notice them.

That is where the difference lies. The camera becomes less about creating a perfect picture and more about preserving the feeling of actually being there.

A beautiful wedding does not have to look like someone else's wedding.

There is always another trend, another colour palette and another reel telling you how a wedding is supposed to look. Somewhere in all of that, it is easy to forget the people getting married.

Start with what matters to you. The people you want around, the food you actually love, the music you would dance to even without a camera in the room.

When those decisions come first, the photographs naturally become more personal. The wedding stops looking like a reference board and starts looking like your life.

What Makes a Wedding Film Feel Cinematic?
Films · 03

Cinematic is a feeling, not a slow-motion preset.

A wedding film becomes cinematic through the way moments are observed, shaped and connected. It is not just about dramatic lenses, slow motion or beautiful colour grading.

Sound, pacing, pauses and small details often do more work than spectacle. The voice of a parent, the noise of a crowded room, a nervous breath before the ceremony can make a film feel lived-in.

The goal is simple: when you watch it years later, it should bring back more than what the camera saw. It should bring back what the day felt like.

Why Location Matters in a Prewedding Shoot

The best location is usually the one where you forget the camera.

A prewedding shoot does not need a grand location to look meaningful. What matters more is whether the place gives the couple something to do, somewhere to walk, somewhere to sit, somewhere to simply be together.

That could be a beach at sunset, a quiet old street, a favourite café or a place connected to your story. The location becomes part of the memory rather than just a backdrop.

When couples are comfortable in the environment, photographs become less posed and more like fragments of an actual day together.

The Family Photographs We Never Want to Lose
People · 05

Years later, the photograph may mean more than the wedding itself.

Couples naturally become the centre of a wedding gallery, but family photographs carry a different kind of weight. They document people at a particular point in time.

Grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins and friends may all be photographed together without realising how valuable that frame will become later.

We believe these photographs deserve the same attention as portraits. Not because they are always the most glamorous images, but because they preserve relationships that cannot be recreated.

What You Should Actually Look for in a Wedding Photographer

Look beyond the Instagram grid.

A wedding photographer is going to spend a surprisingly large amount of time around you, your family and your friends. The relationship matters almost as much as the portfolio.

Look at complete weddings rather than only a photographer's ten favourite images. Pay attention to how they photograph different lighting, crowded rooms, family moments and quieter parts of the day.

Most importantly, find someone whose way of seeing feels close to the way you want to remember your wedding. The photographs should feel like you, not like an advertisement for the photographer.
